CUSTOMER DEMOS CARRY ON IN THE SOUTH
As each day begins, another five hundred lives are doomed to end. But where you find companies happy to pay HLS to torture animals, you find people determined to stop them. And so began another day chasing the abusers around the south.
Sandoz, Unit 37, Woolmer Way, Bordon, GU35 9QE
First stop of the day was the generics company Sandoz. They are a Novartis company so they are protected by the same injunction; limiting megaphone use to just 15 minutes. Fortunately, there is no better warm-up for a day like this than shouting at the top of our voices for just under an hour. You can throw all the money you like at pathetic injunctions, but you can never shut out the sounds of the truth Novartis.
Abbott, Vanwall Business Park, Vanwall Road, Maidenhead, SL6 4XE
We took full advantage of the lack of restrictions here. Covering the entrance and lining the fence, we stayed for two hours and were unrelenting on four megaphones for the duration. Any workers out and about on their lunch break would have been greeted with an aural barrage and could not be left unaware of the suffering that they are directly responsible for. Your money - your fault Abbott, and we won't stop reminding you about this until you stop your involvement with HLS.
Sanofi Pasteur MSD, Mallards Reach, Bridge Avenue, Maidenhead, SL6 1QP
This is an excellent location for an informative demonstration as the offices are alongside a row of bus stops, which is always beneficial for leafleting. We held a short demonstration here and kept a megaphone talking for the duration, letting all who passed by know exactly what this company is responsible for; suffering and death.
Syngenta, Jealott's Hill IRC, Bracknell RG42 6EY
This is a huge complex that needs to be visited as people enter and leave it. With this in mind, we arrived just in time to see the workers heading home after another day of poisoning our environment and the animals that inhabit it. Many workers were seen turning away from the front entrance to try to sneak out the back exit all the way over the other side. SHAC expect this kind of cowardice from a company like this though, and they will have been disappointed to find out that a team had been deployed there also. We stayed here for an hour and a half, giving an energetic end to the day as we knew we could all go home with clear consciences – more than could be said for a few of the Syngenta employees, who raced out covering their faces. Funny that, got something to hide Syngenta?
