PROTESTS CONTINUE AT UK HQ OF NOVARTIS

About 2pm, protestors turned up outside the UK headquarters of Novartis in Horsham to be met with some rather wet weather. While a lot of people may not bother with a protest due to the weather conditions we at SHAC do not give in so easily.

Due to the unfair conditions placed upon us by the draconian attempts used by Novartis to silence the rights of "free speech and expression" we could only use the megaphone for one period of 5mins during the 1- 1/2 hour period of the protest. Despite this we certainly made our presence felt during this time with what could be a record number of people sounding their car horn in support and more people than usual taking leaflets. The limits on the use of
the megaphone make little difference due to the way in which the sound reverberates of the buildings on the site.

The attempts by the so called security to listen in to our conversations were met with the contempt and derision that they deserve when we noticed that they had placed a not so covert listening device just inside the fence.

Once again paranoia overcame the so called head of security when he decided that the sight of a protestor holding up a mobile phone was an infringement of his status as a protected person under the conditions on their expensive injunction. His face must have been redder than the financial status of HLS when the police that he had called spoke to the protestor only to discover that the phone in question was old and had no camera.

We saved the 5 mins allowed on the megaphone until near the end of the demo when it was used to great effect to inform all those who could hear that we know about the Primates and Guinea Pigs that you use on your site in Horsham. How many more people do you need us to
inform about your own testing facilities and your dealing with HLS before you realise that we will not go away until you stop dealing with HLS.

Don't worry we will be back with more protestors to make more noise and inform more people what a sick company you are for dealing with a morally and financially bankrupt company called HLS.
