ANOTHER DEMO AT PARANOID CIBA VISON

On Wednesday 13th February activists from accross the South gathered at Ciba Vision, Novartis' major site in Hedge End near Southampton.

Novartis are a strange company their paranoia holds no bounds, their little Ciba Vision site was largely ignored (wrongly in our view) before Novartis started getting all weird about injunctions.
They might as well have jumped up and down screaming demo us, go on demo us, go on every week. The amazingly lucky thing for us to is that Novartis are now SHAC's number 1 target so it's double the reason to do them. Ok Novartis have spent thousands of pounds on injunctions and they have even tried to ban us from the site.
But come on, they must realise that by shouting about how effective are demos are we're just going to come back time and time again.

Our demonstration started well, however after about ten minutes the Hampshire police officers, who were inside Ciba Vision drinking tea and Coffee and having a jolly good time watching us through the window, decided that after all that tea it was time for action. After looking at a piece of paper intently for a bit they decided to come over to us and try and serve Ciba Vision's/Novartis' brand new high court injunction for them, a civil and not police matter.
They of course did this without actually giving us a chance to see the said injunction. When we asked how we would know about, and so be able to conform with the new injunction, as it was not anywhere on the planet bar their and Ciba Vision's hands the officers looked confused.

After even more silliness and confused looks from Hampshire police we moved our demonstration down the road to the "the new designated protest area" and carried out a lively and well received demo, until the police decided that the said new injunction stated we had to leave by 12, so we left.

Amazing it now appears that the new injunction was not actually in force in the first place and Hampshire police got a bit confused by an injunction that had the words "draft" in big letters on it, apparently that means something different in police speak, well in the words of the police, tell that to the judge.

Thanks Ciba Vision for making us feel really wanted and see you again very soon.
