MORE STAPLES STORE PROTESTS IN THE SOUTH

On Monday 18th Feb, activists in the south paid Staples a visit.

First up was the large staples department store in Fareham, Hampshire. We spent over an hour leafleting the public and informing them of Staples involvement with the despicable Huntingdon Life Sciences. Many people accepted leaflets and vowed not to use Staples until they sever their ties, including two women who expressed their disgust to the workers inside, one of those being a business woman who's whole company use Staples - well, they used to.

Despite the head office lying to their staff about their involvement with HLS, workers still accepted leaflets and stated that they would complain to their management.

Next up we arrived at Staples in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Which is ironically right next door to 'Pets At Home'. An unbelievable amount of support in this area. Several customers who had driven there especially to buy from Staples actually took their business elsewhere when finding out what sort of company they're dealing with.

As we sang chants such as "500 animals died today, Staples are the ones to blame", we explained what goes on inside HLS and leafleted the public to raise awareness of Staples' involvement. Loads of public, many themselves with animals, stated their disgust with Staples and vowed not to touch them until they make the ethical decision. To top the amazing public support at this site, the manager of pets at home even brought us cups of coffee and asked if there was anything we needed!

Looks like the more everyone learns about Staples, the less business they get, I think that says a lot about the sort of company they are - profiting off the backs of the 72,000 animals locked away inside HLS right now.

We'll be back Staples, time and time again until you do the right thing.

Do it for the animals. Do it for your customers. And do it for your business.
