Today we let our voices be heard once again for the thousands of animals that die everyday in HLS and other laboratories all over the world. We started the day at Novartis in Arnhem. Seeing how they are a big customer of HLS and are therefore responsible for the animals that suffer and die in this horrible lab, we will never tire of confronting them with their responsibility. After this successful demo we went on to Harlan in Horst, where we demonstrated from 12.00 to 14.00 in the context of the Sciencelink campaign. Even though this project of building yet another animal testing facility in the Netherlands seems to have been put to a halt, we will not quit our demonstrations until we have a guarantee black on white that this place will not be built. During this demo we saw some bloody tissue lying in a dumpster filled with sawdust and feces from the cages inside, which once again proved that Harlan has no respect for life and is willing to do whatever they want to innocent animals as long as it is profitable. Last demo of the day was at Hartelust in Tilburg. With about 30 activists we confronted this small family business with its disgusting practices, namely importing monkeys from the wild in order to supply them to labs all over Europe. In a small building the monkeys are held, waiting to be transported to one of the labs, where these creatures will find nothing but pain and death. However, the days of secretly exploiting animals have ended for Roberto Hartelust and his little club of animal abusing scum, and we will make sure to keep them in the spotlight until they close their doors forever. |
