Demo - York, North Yorkshire - Sat 23rd Feb Totally unaware and not expecting a SHAC demo to turn up, the manager came out and said that we must be mistaken and that he would get the contact number for their PR for us to speak to them direct to prove us wrong!!!!!!! We waited for the manager to return with the magical telephone number, but this never happened ( no surprise there lol ), all that happened was he got on the phone to Staples head office explaining about the SHAC demo happening outside his store to which he was quickly instructed to not have any communication with the SHAC protestors at all ( this was confirmed via the police officer who turned up later). The screams of puppies been tortured inside HLS were played over and over again via a megaphone for everybody to hear the torture and pain that Staples are happy to be a part of. Many people took our leaflets and several turned away and vowed to boycott Staples. Staples were reassured by the campaigners that they will be back time and time again until Staples cut their ties with HLS. Demo - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - Sunday 24th Feb. 7 activists turned up to greet Staples in Sheffield on Sunday, informing the public of the connection between HLS and Staples and to remind Staples that they will always be a target of protest until they severed their ties with HLS. Many leaflets were handed out and people turned their backs on Staples, shocked and horrified at Staples connection with HLS. Again the screams of puppies tortured inside HLS were played over and over again via a megaphone for all to hear reminding Staples of the barbaric torture they are happy to be part of. Members of the public were informed that Staples were doing business with the most disreputable company - unlike any UK bank, insurance company, or stock exchange - and many hundreds of other companies that refused to work with HLS. Blood on your hands Staples.
