2008 KICK_OFF

Demo #1: Dorothy Watson General Counsel Novartis

A dozen activists started their afternoon at the home of Dorothy Watson, conveniently located by a very high traffic location. The court ordered distance of 45 feet from the front door coupled with the fact that Dorothy lives in the Pent House apartment on the very top floor of this hi-rise building gave protesters the incentive to be especially loud. A large banner graphically portraying the mutilated remains of a beagle puppy was a real attention-getter. Literature was distributed to passersby, as activists chanted.Stop the Killing, Stop the Pain Dorothy Watson is to blame.

Demo #2: Lamberto Andreotti President, Worldwide Pharmaceuticals Bristol-Myers Squibb

Next stop of the afternoon was the posh and exclusive address of Lamberto Andreotti, a high-ranking executive with Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS). Activists keep hoping that they will see Andreottis neighbor, Madonna, who also lives in this building, so that they can give her a piece of their mind about her full length chinchilla fur coat! Disgusting and cruel!

Late afternoon saw many dog walkers and strollers cruising along Central Park West providing a great opportunity for education and community outreach. Folks stopped to chat with activists and to ask questions. A spunky and loud demonstration did much to draw attention to the picket line, which ran half the length of Lambertos block. Your money, Your fault, Your contract, Your fault, Your drugs, Your fault, the sounds of the angry protesters filled the air along Central Park West.

Demo #3: Mark Begansky Sales Executive AstraZeneca International

Last stop of the evening was the home of AstraZeneca staffer, Mark Begansky. Mark calls himself a Sales Representative but activists know this is just a fancy name for Drug Pusher. Polluting the earth, polluting the water, polluting our bodies, polluting the water. Profiting off of the animal slaughter. Mark lives next door to a swanky theater district restaurant, providing activists with a captive audience for their protest thanks, of course to the court ordered 45 restraining order.

This protest was the loudest of the day. Activists seemed totally determined to have their voices heard, near and far. Perhaps someone should warn their neighbor, Mark Begansky because, as the activists put it. First amendment is our right, We will not give up this fight!
