NYSE, ASTRAZENECA & FREIGHT COMPANY PROTESTS IN LONDON

Our first target, and one who has got off lightly in recent weeks, was NYSE Euronext. This company continues to trade the blood money shares of HLS on it's ARCA exchange. We were outside the injunction period for this demonstration, which means that we were actually allowed to protest at the correct office! It was a really good demonstration - loud and determined - and we stayed about an hour and a half. Strangely a couple of cops, one particularly streaky, came down from Cambridgeshire just for us!

We then went to Astrazeneca, home of many a heated discussion with the Metropolitan police in the last couple of months. This time we had the City police with us. We started the demonstration as normal, chanting with the megaphone and shaming them for their continued involvement with Huntingdon Life Sciences. The noise and energy was very good and they were obviously gutted that the routinely unlawful Metropolitan police hadn't moved us across the road. Strangely a couple of Met officers showed up and had absolutely no problem with us using 3 megaphones aimed straight into Astrazeneca. This was the best demonstration we have had at Astrazeneca for ages. We stayed there for about an hour and a half as well.

After this, we went down the road to Pakistan International Airlines, who fly primates around the world for vivisection, some of which end up in the gates of HLS hell itself. We stayed there for about three quarters of an hour, distributing plenty of leaflets and getting the message through loud and clear. A really great day of demos and SHAC has as much energy and determination as it ever has. Injustice like the animals are suffering inside HLS will always bring people to fight against it.
