LONDON DEMOS CONTINUE AGAINST HLS CUSTOMERS & SUPPLIERS

We surprised AstraZeneca and the police by having our weekly demos on Monday this time, and we did a really good demonstration against AstraZeneca... until the police showed up! The energy was very good and we really showed them that we're not going away. Yet again when the old bill arrived, the misused section 14 orders stopped us from protesting outside the building which AstraZeneca occupy. We already have a case going through court concerning the validity of section 14 orders at this location, so we reluctantly obeyed this time and completed our demonstration from the other side of the road. At least this time the section 14 was explained properly, giving us time to cross the street, unlike last week at Pakistan International Airlines.

From here we moved onto Pakistan International Airlines as normal. Having demonstrated for just a few minutes, a couple of PIA staff came out to talk to us, claiming that they no longer transport animals for vivisection. If that has been true all along, then why wait until now to tell us? This target has been demonstrated against weekly for a few months now. We are awaiting confirmation regarding this and if it turns out that they are lying about it, they can expect us to raise our campaign against them.
