HLS SUPPLIER AND INVESTOR PROTESTS IN NYC

Demo #1: Staples – Sixth Ave. & 57th St. – HLS Supplier

Vowing to keep the pressure on Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) supplier Staples, activists arrived at their busy Sixth Avenue & 57th Street location. The large banner showing the bloody mutilated remains of an HLS beagle puppy garnered lots of attention along with posters naming and shaming Staples for supplying the puppy killers of HLS.

Flyers were distributed to passersby and many, horrified by the graphic posters, vowed to contact Staples to let them know that they will no longer shop there until assured that all ties to HLS have been severed. Activists are now letting folks know that when they call the Staples 800 number or when they e-mail corporate headquarters, Staples is LYING about their relationship with HLS. Staples you should be ashamed of yourself. Have you even bothered to read your own corporate ethics statement? Staples LIES and beagles DIE. “We’ll be back Staples…count on it!”

Demo #2: Peter Laventhol, HLS Investor – SPARK LP

After a hiatus of several weeks, activists returned to the W. 54th Street address of HLS investor Peter Laventhol of Spark. Spark (which is really just a front for the personal investments of Peter Laventhol himself) still holds over 40,000 shares of LSR stock. A large banner was displayed naming and shaming him in front of his neighbors……”Peter Laventhol Puppy Killer”. So many are shocked because they tell us Peter is a good man that cares about animals. We see absolutely no evidence of this as Mr. Laventhol has not even given activists the courtesy of a reply to their e-mails.

As in times past, a steady stream of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) patrons and visitors provided an audience to activists chants and flyers. Many seemed shocked to find that a big shot investor like Peter Laventhol would be involved with sordid animal abusers like the ones at Huntingdon Life Sciences. As long as Laventhol holds a single share in LSR stock, he will remain an active target of the campaign.
