PROTESTS START WITH NOVARTIS, THEN MOVE ONTO 'SECRET' SECURITY CONFERENCE FOR VIVISECTORS

As part of the global week of action against Novartis, the Anti Dierproeven Coalitie went to Arnhem, in the Netherlands to confront this sick company and their heartless workers.

At the main entrance gate, Novartis personnel were greeted by 25 furious activists in the usual, hard-hitting way they have come to expect from us. All these cowards did not know how quickly they had to pass us, most of them driving their big fancy sport utility vehicles paid with the blood of defenseless animals. 'Animal killers, shame on you' resonated through the Raapopseweg, where these evil people are located. Again, passers-by showed their support.

People are disgusted by your cruel and bloody practices Novartis, both in HLS and in your own filthy laboratories. The images of mutilated beagle puppies, tortured monkeys and other animals that suffer at the hands of vivisectors speak for themselves. The Anti Dierproeven Coalitie and SHAC will never look the other way and will never give up whilst animals are being poisoned, maimed and butchered inside the death camps of Huntingdon Life Sciences and Novartis. We will continue to fight for these sentient and beautiful animals until every cage is empty.

YOUR SECRET IS OUR SECRET...

Around half past one in the afternoon we were not, as announced, at Organon in Oss but in Veldhoven at the conference centre 'het Koningshof' to disrupt a 'secret' symposium organized by animal breeder Harlan. Invited were, among others, representatives of Huntingdon Life Sciences and Covance. The main theme for this meeting among notorious animal killers was 'how to deal with animal rights activists'. The following speakers were present:

Harlan director, Jan Bartels:

- How an opportunity to partake in a 'promising Life Sciences' project, such as ScienceLink, is taken away from you by 'those activists'.

HLS security director Guy Mathias:

- How you can risk the continuity of your company by beating up harmless beagle puppies in front of hidden cameras

Vice President Security of Covance, Ed Luekenhoff:

- How harmful it is when activists succeed twice in infiltrating your company for months and subsequently show the entire world footage of tortured monkeys inside your labs.

Peter Willemsen, International Security Partners:

- 'Personal security.... it comes with the job!' On how challenging a job as an 'animal researcher' can be.

Monsanto Geneva, Joe Genovese:

- Partnerships between the government and the vivisection industry; how we can (ab)use the authorities as a means to our own ends.

Director of animal testing lab at the UMC Nijmegen, Prof. Dr Merel Ritskes-Hoitinga:

- How to deceive the general public and authorities by lying to and misinforming the media

So of course the Anti Dierproeven Coalitie was present to give this vivisecting scum the opportunity to directly put into practice what they sought to 'learn' that day. Personnel of the conference centre were completely overwhelmed by our unannounced visit as were the vivisectors.

As always however, these animal abusing cowards did not dare to come out and confront us, let alone the animals they torture, whose images we carried with us once again. Instead they hid themselves inside the complex, all the while hoping for us to go away. We've got some news for you; we won't ever leave you sadists alone as long as animals are being tortured and killed inside HLS, Covance and Harlan.

You are the real terrorists that should be stopped; instilling fear into the hearts of voiceless animals every single day and leaving a trail of suffering and death. You've got everything to hide, we've got everything to expose and fight for. Secretive meetings like these only proof the success of our efforts and will strengthen us in our beliefs and in our struggle for the animals. We will not be tempered, we will close down your shitty companies and that's a promise!

Until all are free!
