WHY I, AS A DISABLED PERSON SAY NO TO VIVISECTION As a disabled person myself with a congenital condition, I fully understand personal misery, fear and pain of being sick or handicapped person. Coupled with the feelings felt by family who would sacrifice anything to save or cure their sick child or loved one it can be an agonizing time. Although very much someone who respects and cares for animals, my grounds for being against the use of animals in research surprisingly does not stem from them, but a need to warn and educate everyone young and old against the inaccuracy and dangers of vivisection which very often gets discarded or covered up. Its too late for me, I have been left with a massive disfigurement covering my whole back, due to faults in surgery techniques, one working lung and a damaged heart caused by a new animal tested anesthesia. However, I can campaign for change to protect others from dangers of animal tested drugs and medical practice. Vivisection delays medical advancement and vivisectors cover up the real truth in the name of profit. Victims rarely win in a court of law as the pharmaceutical companies claim they are not responsible, as animal tests cannot be relied upon. ‘Yes they actually admit it!’ I will never stop campaigning to close places like Huntingdon Life Sciences and I am far from alone. People from all over the world are beginning to listen… ‘The truth will out’ or so they say. HLS your time is up! |
