home >> news DEMOS IN DC AGAINST HLS COLLABORATORS Wednesday, 22nd April In D.C., DARTT activists stood in solidarity in with activists across the globe in recognizing World Laboratory Animal Liberation week (April 18 - 26th); the first of these solidarity actions took place in the early morning of Wednesday, April 22nd. That morning, to the chagrin of employees of Vanguard Group, the second largest institutional investor in the barbaric industry of death that is Huntingdon Life Sciences, a handful of DARTT activists were waiting to greet them upon arrival to their detestable workplace. Activists chanted loudly and held signs depicting the horrors that occur on a daily basis within animal research labs, horrors that Vanguard Group is complicit in allowing to continue through its funding of murder for sloppy science; the demonstration carried on for over thirty minutes with minimal police interference. The offices of two nefarious pharmaceutical giants, Novartis and Sanofi-Aventis, were then hit with quick, loud demonstrations to serve notice that as long as these companies contract with HLS, the protests outside their doors aren't going to go away, and are only going to happen with greater frequency and with greater volume. Once notice had been adequately served, DARTT activists returned to Vanguard Group offices for more loud chanting and to remind employees of this heinous company that demonstrations can and will happen at any time--if the animals behind the walls of HLS's research facilities don't get a break from their torment, neither should the diabolical people who allow these innocent animals to be so tormented.
