GLOBAL WEEK AGAINST HLS CUSTOMERS CONTINUES IN NYC

Friday, 28th August

Activists gathered once again at the corporate headquarters offices of Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) customer Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS). Although there has never been an incident or any reason to warrant police presence, agents of Bristol-Myers reported that protesters had trespassed on private property at a previous demo. Of course, this was a blatant lie….but what can you expect from people who do business with the puppy killing scum from HLS?

Police had arrived early and constructed a barricade that effectively blocked the sidewalk making it difficult, if not dangerous, to cross the building. The barricade remained empty for the duration of the protest as activists opted to stand outside of it and closer to the busy corner of Park Avenue. Hundreds of flyers were distributed to the many pedestrians who passed the corner on their way home. Luckily, the weekend forecast was for rain, which kept many at their desks until closing time, instead of heading out for an early weekend. This effectively tripled the amount of foot traffic passing the demonstration.

Voices were raised in loud chanting….”500 animals died today, Bristol-Myers is to blame”. Many passersby were engaged in informative conversations with activists and all left with flyers detailing Huntingdon Life Science’s crimes against animals and Bristol-Myers Squibb complicity with HLS.

Even though halfway through the protest, the rain began; this did not stop the dedicated activists from pulling out their umbrellas and rain gear and continuing to name and shame Bristol-Myers Squibb. Until Bristol-Myers cuts its blood money ties to Huntingdon Life Sciences, animal advocates will continue to protest at both their offices and homes. The animals imprisoned by Huntingdon Life Sciences don’t get to home to have a quiet, restful weekend. Why should their murderers?
