home >> news LONDON SHAC DEMOS AGAINST ASTRAZENECA & FORTRESS Friday, 11th December Protests continue against a major HLS customer, AstraZeneca with supporting demos in Sweden and the US. We arrived outside AZ's UK HQ at Stanhope Gate and got straight down to the demo. There was a meeting going on at the time and AstraZeneca had to pull down all their blinds and finish their meeting early, what a shame! You should know by now AZ, deal with HLS, deal with us. We continued to let everyone know about this company's sick track record of their own dodgy, dangerous drugs which cause adverse drug side effects, with over 6,000 people suing them over their drug Seroquel (just in the US), over charging doctors in the US and causing animal suffering in their labs and at HLS in Cambridgeshire. Lets not forget the fact that thgey paid for painful experiment on primates only last year in HLS, where the primates were so traumatised that they were biting their own limbs, having anal prolapses and vomiting feces - all ok according to AstraZeneca! We will continue to protests against you until you stop dealing with the 'worst of the worst' of all the animal labs - HLS. Next, we moved onto Fortress Investment Group at 5 Savile Row. Again a loud demo ensued with support from passers by and many queries about Fortress' loan dealings with HLS. Over 520,000 animals have met their painful death at HLS since Fortress bailed out HLS with a secret loan in 2006. Fortress are so ashamed of their dealings with HLS they went to great lengths to hide their loan involvement through shell companies, but we will always find the HLS collaborators. Fortress must be desperate or daft to deal with HLS, many hundreds of companies have pulled out of dealing with HLS and without Fortress' support, HLS will not be able to continue their greedy animal torture for plain greed. With HLS going private recently (and Fortress helping with the funding of the loan for this), you can bet that Fortress will be seeing a lot more of us. SHAC London
