home >> news TWO HIGHGATE PROTESTS IN A WEEK DURING XMAS Friday, 25th December After arriving at the 'farm' we had a loud and spirited xmas lunchtime demo and let Geoffrey Douglas and sons know what we thought about there evil business. We had an hour on the megaphone right outside their premises and we left them in no doubt about why we were there - its time to change your business or retire. Wednesday, 29th December Another successful demo at Highgate follows on from the Christmas day demo. We once again made our way to Highgate from across the North of the country. Despite have to drive through snow blizzards we were determined to make it to remind Mr Douglas and his sons that they are involved in a horrendous industry that causes untold pain and suffering both to animals and to humans who suffer from medicines that have been tested on animals but are not suitable for humans. Although Mr Douglas was in on Christmas day we did not get to see him today, but none the less we were determined to get our message across that no matter the weather we are determined to keep doing peaceful demos until they realise what a terrible industry they are involved in. After an hour of the demo the police turned up and more than doubled the size of our demo and passing motorists took even more notice of our banner. We did get several waves of encouragement from passing motorists. To keep our spirits up we had a ready supply of vegan food and hot drinks to keep us going. We look forward to our next peaceful demo and hope to get our message across in 2010.
