home >> news NYSE MEMBER JMS HAS PROTEST IN PA, USA On Thursday, January 8th, activists in Philadelphia once again took to the streets to protest against Huntingdon Life Sciences and its business cohorts. Why protest this company? Because Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) is a cruel, sadistic animal testing company that prides itself on killing an average of 500 animals a day for products like tanning lotion, shampoo and artificial sweeteners. HLS is anything but life science. They are not looking to cure cancer or AIDS. This is animal abuse, and we won’t stand for it. We spent 2 hours outside the offices of Janney Montgomery Scott (JMS) at 1801 Market St, Philadelphia PA in the Ten Penn Center building. Janney Montgomery Scott is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, and, as such, has a huge amount of financial influence in the world. The New York Stock Exchange plays a direct role in the ability of HLS to keep killing every day by trading HLS’ stock (LSRI on the stock exchange), and this need to stop. So long as financiers like the New York Stock Exchange and JMS keep HLS afloat, they condemn 500 animals a day to death. Janney Montgomery Scott, it’s your money, it’s your stock trading and it’s your fault. You have the ability to remove HLS from the stock exchange with a vote and the stroke of a pen. Do it now. Don’t wait for tomorrow. So long as companies continue to support and do business with HLS, we’ll be there. If you want to get some rest, cut your ties with HLS! Shame on you, JMS. We’ll be back so long as you keep doing business with HLS. ================================================= Disclaimer: Philly Animal Defense League (Philly ADL) is not affiliated or ================================================= |
