CAMBRIDGE PROTEST AT BIOCAIR

Monday, 1st May

Activists headed to Biocair, The Business Centre, Church End, Cambridge, CB1 3LB today because they are a long time supplier of the animal cruelty extremists at HLS. Despite being told about the animal abuse, falsification of data and the tests on household products, food additives and GMOs this company continues to deal with the most exposed animal lab in the world.

As we arrived at the company we spoke over the megaphone letting staff know that we were there to speak up against Biocair's business dealings with the notorious HLS.

After quite a while a PCSO turned up and told us we were on private property. An activist told him it was a quasi-public area and they had not been asked to leave. The PCSO said he could be right and said he would need to look into it.

A real cop turned up in a van and the activist told him the same thing. Seeming unsure what to do he went into the company and remained inside for a very long time. The demo continued in the small business park and leaflets were placed on the cars.

Eventually the cops came out again and told the activists they would have to leave because they had had complaints that people had been “intimidated” and therefore they could arrest the campaigners for “aggravated trespass”. An activist said they were not even trespassing as they had not been asked to leave and that they were not “intimidating” anyone but were exercising a right to protest. After a while the campaigners, did however moved to stand a the gates, which still let them protest as each worker left.

It was a good protest and be assured Biocair we will be back time and time again until you make the right choice.

Until all are free
