home >> news NYC ACTIVISTS FOCUS ON HLS CUSTOMER BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB Saturday, 6th June While many people were out enjoying the fine weather, Win Animal Rights continued its campaign to name and shame customers of Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). Activists once again visited the homes of two top Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) executives, as they continue to provide HLS with meaningless contracts. Without this help, sadistic technicians wouldn't be able to poison and mutilate hundreds of defenseless animals every single day of the week. Demo #1: James Cornelius - Chairman & CEO - Bristol-Myers Squibb Demonstrators arrived at the home of James Cornelius, Chairman and CEO of BMS, ready to alarm nearby residents that an animal abuser lived in their midst. They made sure to bring twice as many fliers since information was in such high demand during the previous Cornelius protest. Sure enough, hundreds of pedestrians gladly took a leaflet, horrified by the images taken during the numerous undercover investigations inside HLS. Many of them went a step further, walking over to the information table to learn more about the campaign and even donate a few dollars. Unfortunately someone had to be a party pooper and building security personnel came out in an attempt to shut down the demonstration. They insisted that the activists were on private property but weren't able to come up with where that property ended. When activists refused to move, they threatened to put up an (illegal) barricade and even block pedestrian traffic. Their ill-attempts to stifle free speech backfired as even more people wanted to know what was going down outside Columbus Circle and activists were more than happy to stick around even longer. It turns out that quite a few people were interested in how Mr. Cornelius was paying for his multimillion dollar apartment. Unfortunately for Time Warner security, such a high-traffic area is too good of an opportunity to pass up, and they can expect activists to return. Demo #2: Lamberto Andreotti - President & COO - Bristol-Myers Squibb Following the successful demonstration, protesters returned to the residence of Lamberto Andreotti, President of Bristol-Myers. Akin to the previous protest, hundreds of neighbors and onlookers were stunned by the placards depicting the everyday suffering of tens of thousands of animals trapped inside Huntingdon Life Sciences. WAR protests aren't quiet, and activists provided a little information for those too far away to see the horrifying images: "500 animals died today! Lamberto Andreotti is to blame!" Pedestrians were happy to reach for a leaflet and talk to tablers about the shenanigans BMS and HLS were up to. A friend of Andreotti's even stopped by to find out what was going on, and after learning about the insane cruelty, informed activists he would speak to Mr. Andreotti about his company's contracts. During the demonstration, activists also didn't pass up on an opportunity to call out the horse carriage drivers (and their passengers) for their cruel treatment of the beautiful horses in New York City. WAR is an equal-opportunity animal avenger and won't rest until all animal abuse ends. Video Clips: James Cornelius - Bristol-Myers Squibb Lamberto Andreotti - Bristol-Myers Squibb
