home >> news IRISH TOUR OF HLS SHAREHOLDERS Monday, 16th March Activists stage protests at 3 locations in Dublin We started at Barclays Global Investors (J.P. Morgan House, IFSC, Dublin 1), who have 398,187 shares in murder. As the IFSC is a privately owned business campus, security and members of the police were on us in minutes - and we were told to leave the area immediately. However, a number of staff from the building were supportive - one of whom stated that she was unaware of any connection J.P. Morgan had with Barclays, and went to find out more info for us. So we were then able to stay leafleting and talking with other staff, while we waited for her to come back! We were hoping to protest BNP Paribas Securities Corp. and ITG Execution Services (both Category 2 targets, who have influence on NYSE shars), but as they are located in the centre of the IFSC, and we were being followed by security, we were unable to unfortunately. Luckily though, the next stop, State Street International (Guild House, Guild Street, IFSC, Dublin 1) - a company which has 128,610 bloodstained shares in LSR - is located on the outer edge of the campus, so we were able to stay there for an hour. We tried to get into the building to talk with the management, but were stopped by security. We then invited them out to speak with us, but were told we'd have to "make an appointment". We intend on taking them up on that offer though! Finally, we paid a visit to PNC Global Investment Serving (Riverside Two, Sir John Rogersons Quay, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2) to tell them just what we think of their 74,500 shares in animal abuse. Security weren't too happy to see us, one of them even started getting rough with an activist who was holding the video camera! Staff were very apathetic too - but what would we expect, I suppose! We were there for over an hour, two megaphones on the go. And as an added bonus, when a policeman arrived, he gave out to PNC security for their aggressive and over-the-top behaviour towards us! We'll be organising more protests soon, so our message to anyone connected with Huntingdon Life Sciences is: Deal with HLS - Deal with Us! National Animal Rights Association
