DC ACTIVISTS PROTEST AT HLS CUSTOMERS

Monday, 9th March

On the afternoon of March 9th, 2009, DARTT (Defending Animal Rights Today & Tomorrow) activists descended upon the D.C. offices of Novartis, one of Huntingdon Life Science's top customers, to serve a message to the employees of this nefarious business that if they continue to do business with HLS, they will continue to be the regular recipients of loud protests that will disrupt their business and further damage their credibility.

The demo outside Novartis was sustained for about half an hour, and when it was agreed the message that Novartis should sever their ties to one of the world's filthiest, bloodiest corporations had been sufficiently conveyed.

The activists made their way to the nearby offices of Bristol-Myer Squibb. Signs were raised and chants were shouted at the Bristol-Myers Squibb office to let them know that dealing with HLS will not go unpunished. Again and again, protesters have been to Bristol-Myers Squibb, it just a matter of time before they tap out and dump HLS like so many other corporations.

Early into this demo, one security guard became aggressive, and attempted to bat at one of the activist's bullhorns, and slam the activist's leg in the front door. Police arrived on the scene, and the security guard deceitfully claimed it was he who had been assaulted, but this attempted intervention by the police was not enough to silence the message that if you deal with Huntingdon Life Sciences, you deal with loud angry protestors outside your office, outside your home, any time - day or night.
