home >> news SECOND DAY OF DARTT DEMOS Sunday, 31th May DARTT animal rights activists hit the streets in DC to protest at the homes of two investment advisers with Brown Advisory and also in solidarity with the Global Mad Science May week of action, customer home demos for Abbot Labs and Bristol Myers Squibb. First visit was James W Whelihan, investment advisor for Brown Advisory. Activists with several bullhorns made it clear to James Whelihan and his neighbors that Brown Advisory's decision to invest in animal torture will not go unnoticed and the animals locked inside HLS will not be forgotten. After about five minutes of loud chanting, activists noticed movement inside the large upper NW home. A shout out drew attention to this and James Whelihan was educated about the everyday atrocities that go on behind the locked doors at HLS. After about 45 minutes and police unsuccessful attempts to quiet the protesters, activists felt the message had been adequately served, promises were made to return time and time again until James Whelihan and his company Brown Advisory completely divests from the wretched HLS and vows to never do business with them again. Next stop was George Grayson, another investment advisor for Brown Advisory. Secret Service arrived on the scene asking why activists were there and unsuccessfully trying to take names. Protests went on for over 45 minutes and large amounts of fliers were distributed to neighbors in Mr. Grayson's upscale condo highrise. Protesters also visited Sarah Garland of Abbot Labs and Jennifer Luray, awarding them with Mad Science Awards for their animal abusing ways. Mary Sumpter-Johnson, Government Relations for Bristol Myers Squibb also received loud and focused home demos in honor of Mad Science May. Police nastiness is not uncommon at Jennifer Luray's home, and Sunday was no exception. Both private security guards and cops appeared. The private security guard had a big camera and a voice recorder-while two police pulled out flex cuffs. As people started leaving, one of the cops said "Don't go anywhere" but his unlawful order was ignored and police did not try to physically prevent protesters from leaving. Protesters were tailed for a half a mile by police. No amount of assaults, private attempts at kidnapping, or police abuse Disclaimer:
