FIRST ASTRAZENECA DEMO IN FRANCE

Demo 1 - AstraZeneca, 1 place Louis, Renault, 92500 RUEIL MALMAISON

AstraZeneca met the French campaigners for the first time last Friday. Like many other laboratories such as Novartis, BMS, Bayer and Abbott, their Head Office is in a suburban town of Paris named Rueil Malmaison, When we got there, the police were already blocking the entrance and puzzled employees were waiting for us at their windows and terraces.

When we got the megaphones out and started denouncing their collaboration with Huntingdon Life Sciences, windows quickly closed and the employees continued observing us from behind their blinds.

Many leaflets were handed out to intrigued passers by and AstraZeneca employees who tried to rush out through the back-doors. Now the French can't say that they didn't know!

Demo 2 - Bristol-Myers Squibb, 3 rue Joseph Monier, 92500 RUEIL MALMAISON

A couple of hours later we went to our next target, Bristol-Myers Squibb, that has a main office almost around the block! We spent the rest of the afternoon there greeting the employees coming out of the parking area. As usual we got signs of indifference, with people pretending to be on the phone or chatting with a colleague and signs of amusement which shows how twisted their minds can be (or is it their to hide their shame?).

We reminded them of their dealings with the worse of the worse, HLS and what we thought about their animal abuse and torture.
