BDO & ASTRAZENECA DEMOS IN BRISTOL

Monday, 14th September

BDO get the message driven home whilst AstraZeneca start shaking at the knees.

BDO Stoy Hayward - 1 Victoria St, Bristol, BS1 6AA
From the point of meeting up we had a police van full of cops follow us, and as we arrived at the meeting point they started to swarm. After a minute or so most left, leaving only a few seemingly supportive cops stood around with us. BDO are on the 4th floor and we made full use of the three megaphones to let everyone inside the building know why we where there. There were about 10 activists outside, several were stood over the road leafleting all the passing public all of whom were horrified by what they heard and furious at BDO for their involvement. Several even vowed to join us on our next demo so it looks like the numbers can only get bigger. We even had great support from the builders down the road. After over two hours of enjoying BDO’s public humiliation we packed onto the minibus and headed to the next demo target...

AstraZeneca, Avlon Works, Severn Rd, Hallen, Bristol, BS10

If you ever wondered if a small group of caring individuals could make a difference then here is the proof, a car park large enough for several hundred workers – empty, and why... they heard we were coming. Apparently all the workers were sent home early at 1pm because they knew we where coming at 4pm. We wonder how much money they would have lost by doing this as we are sure they would have still paid all the workers. We can’t wait until next time Astrazeneca.

THE CAMPAIGN IN BRISTOL AGAINST BDO AND ASTRAZENECA WILL MEAN REGULAR NOISY DEMOS AT BOTH COMPANIES. UNTIL YOU SEVER YOUR TIES WITH HLS WE WILL BE BACK TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

ALSO THANKS TO THE CO-MUTINY LOT FOR COMING AND BRINGING THE MINIBUS. CHECK OUT THEIR GREAT STUFF HERE – http://comutiny.wordpress.com/
