WAR PROTEST AGAINST HLS COLLABORATOR - GSK

Friday, 18th September

James Murdoch, Director - GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

The last time New York activists visited the home of James Murdoch, newly appointed Director of GlaxoSmithKline, the chic brownstone on the quiet block of Greenwich Village was unoccupied and under construction. This time, the renovation appeared to be completed and fresh flowers and shrubbery in the window boxes led activists to believe that Mr. Murdoch was in residence.

Although it was only 7:00pm, nightfall had arrived early. The dark quiet block was a perfect backdrop for the gory graphic photos of animals mutilated and tortured by Huntingdon Life Sciences, which accepts contracts from large drug companies including GlaxoSmithKline. The sounds of the activist’s voices rose in unison as they chanted…”500 animals died today, James Murdoch is to blame” and “500 animals murdered today, GlaxoSmithKline is to blame”. The protest continued until a local drunk became overly abusive and annoying. At that point activists had had enough and called it a night.
