PROTEST AT SANOFI-AVENTIS IN NEWCASTLE

Wednesday, 9th September

Today, protesters from Newcastle animal rights decided to picket Sanofi-Aventis' Fawdon site at Edgefield Avenue, Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 3TT over their support for animal vivisection and murder at the hell hole HLS.

Protesters were then confronted by the manager who came out and said to us, look there is a court order please leave and tried to hand us them to which we didn't take so in response he then slapped us with the order the police then moved straight in and threatened one protester with arrest for not picking up the order and chaperoned protesters to the 'legal' protest zone.

But when the manager was walking away he then said that the police are subject to the protected persons and we were not allowed to film them, this is a clear abuse of the court order. The protesters were later told by local residents that the police had been there since 1 pm. (4 hours before we arrived, what a waste of tax-payers' money!)

The protesters were loud and angry at the man-handling of them, showing the staff as they left what they were guilty of. Some of the staff were not that pleasant, the manager 2 finger saluted us as he left and laughed we were not so amused. Another stated we should be sent to the gas chambers (Sanofi would know all about gas wouldn't they), some the other staff laughed. But a few staff signed the petition, we also gave out quite a few leaflets and had a good protest despite them.

This is going to be part of a regular weekly picket of protesting against them. Newcastle animal rights will be a regular sight outside their factory until it's gone or it's support for HLS is gone.
