home >> news SANOFI AVENTIS, NOVARTIS & ASTRAZENECA PROTESTS IN DC Tuesday, 20th April In honor of World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week (April 17th - 25th), DC animal rights activists stepped up the action to speak out for the 500 animals who die in vain each and every day inside the hell that is Huntingdon Life Sciences. Beginning at 7:30am, protesters visited the DC offices of top HLS customers, Sanofi Aventis, Novartis and AstraZeneca. The first protest took place at Sanofi Aventis, where protesters made their presence known through the open building door with a bullhorn echoing throughout the lobby. After a few minutes, security guards moved in, demanding that protesters leave. The protest continued in front of the building with speak-outs, spirited chants, and leafleting as employees entered the building. The next protest confronted Novartis and AstraZeneca, both located in the same office building. Three bullhorns carried a loud and clear message to the companies: "Drop your ties with HLS!" While some employees were not enthusiastic to learn the truth that morning, others were very appreciative. One man stopped, asked for a leaflet, and told the protesters to keep up the good work before entering the building. After an hour of speaking out against the cruelties of vivisection and shaming HLS top customers, the protest came to an end. On behalf of the primates, dogs, rabbits, and other innocent animals suffering and slaughtered at the hands of HLS employees, passionate voices reverberated in front of the office buildings and throughout the streets of DC: "Until ALL are free. We'll be back!!!" World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week is a national week of protests, media events, etc. at laboratories to stop testing and research on animals.
