ANOTHER DAY OF MULTIPLE DEMOS IN DC

Tuesday, 31st August

HLS protesters returned to Goldman-Sachs and Nomura, both major stockholders in Fortress. Fortress prevented HLS from going bankrupt with $100M in loans. Also, Bayer, AstraZeneca, and Sanofi-Aventis received protests over their continuing status as HLS customers

Goldman-Sachs was visited first, with one activist getting inside for a short period. Security then became pushy not only inside, but also on the sidewalk. This protest, which began at maybe 7:30 AM, continued for about 40 minutes. But before we left Goldman Sachs, we where told that GS have sold most of their shares! So everyone went to the offices of Bayer and AstraZeneca, which share a building. The door was locked, apparently because of an unrelated union protest, but an activist managed to get in by following an employee through the door!

Sanofi-Aventis was next, like Bayer and AstraZeneca a customer of puppy-killing, monkey-butchering Huntingdon Life Sciences. Activists gained entry into the lobby as an unexpecting employee entered the building. This happened after the protest started and security was slow at reacting.

Finally the offices of Nomura received a protest, this time entering the lobby and being escorted out. Last week they reached the office as they were not expected. Nomura owns over 30% of Fortress and unless either they dump Fortress or Fortress dumps HLS, they will continue to receive protests.
