ASTRAZENECA AND FORTRESS PROTESTS CONTINUE IN LONDON

Tuesday, 19th January

Activists met up at 11am for another day of protests against HLS collaborators, AstraZeneca (customer) and Fortress (financial lender). The weather was milder than recently and activists moved off to their first port of call - AstraZeneca.

At AstraZeneca activists quickly got on with a loud demo outside their UK HQ at Stanhope Gate, the 10 or so activists got much support from passers-by who were handed information leaflets and listened to our megaphone phone messages telling them about AsTraZeneca's continued involvement with the most exposed animal lab in the world, with a proven track record for falsification of test data and animal cruelty.

As per usual AstraZeneca responded by putting down their blinds, but that will not hide the truth AZ that you deal with the worst or the worst animal abuse labs, it's no wonder that your drugs are causing side effects and you are being sued by over 6,000 people in the US for just one of your drugs! We continued our protest for over an hour before moving on.

We arrived at Fortress with more people (namely the Met police), who helped make the demo look more visible. We had another good protest with support and many questions from the passing public. about Fortress were also named and shamed for their involvement of being the largest lender of blood money to HLS since 2006, helping to kill over 500,000 in the past 3 years.

We will continue to return to Fortress as they are an important target and we have many existing things planed for them for 2010, until next time
