home >> news EARLY MORNING DEMOS FOR HLS CUSTOMERS IN DC Thursday, 28th January Early morning around 7:45 am on Jan 28, protesters showed up at the office of Huntingdon Life Sciences customer Bristol-Myers Squibb. Fearing an invasion, they locked their doors, forcing employees to go around to other entrances. At every entrance protestors visited, security made tired employees walk 4 blocks around the corner to the other entrances. Needless to say, building employees and local law firms are not pleased with Bristol-Myers Squibb being at this location. Protestors had great conversations with employees of other companies who work in the same building while giving away about a hundred flyers. While being Followed by police from the earlier demo, protestors moved on to the highlight of the day, AstraZeneca and Novartis. Ironically, AstraZeneca and Novartis (two HLS customers) are in the same building, making it a favorite spot for DC animal rights protestors to name and shame those who do business with HLS. Sanofi-Aventis also received protests later at their offices and one employee of another firm that shares space with Sanofi-Aventis has been complaining about Sanofi-Aventis' HLS customer status for years and that they needed to listen to protesters instead of "locking them up"! Until next time, drop HLS! Until all are free!
