ASTRAZENECA PROTESTS IN MOSCOW, RUSSIA

As part of the global day of actions against pharma corporation AstraZeneca, the client of HLS - the Europe largest animal experiment laboratory, took place on Friday.

10 SHAC activists went to Moscow business centre where the office of Russian offices of “AstraZeneca” is situated. They switched on their megaphones and siren, and took in their hands posters and hand flare. Also, two activists entered the company office and spread leaflets, chanting slogans: “Close down HLS!”, “AstraZeneca, stop murders!”, “Stop animal testing!”.

Business centre security managed to detain 2 activists and handed them over to police. Detained activists afterwards told about rudeness of security that grabbed the video camera and even hit one girl in back. As they said, during detention in police office they were incurred illegal recording by police officers, were not allowed to visit toilet, and though detention lasted 7 hours for one activist and 10 for another they were deprived of food and water.

The injured activists are going to appeal to human rights organisations as they find police officer’s actions illegal and an outrage.
