B & K UNIVERSAL PROTEST IN HULL

Saturday, 30th January

An anti-vivisection protest was held today at B and K Universal. Activists arrived to show their anger and disgust against the company for breeding animals and sending them to their deaths for fraudulent and useless science inside vivisection laboratories, including HLS.

Due to the unexpected serve weather conditions some of the activists whom intended on attending but had to travel from across the UK could not make the event, however the protest was still very effective, activists were able to protest on the property of B and K Universal and the event received much media attention.

A radio interview was held where three of the attending activists were interviewed to on BBC radio, before film crews later in the day arrived to video the protest. News bulletins were also being sent out regularly throughout the day.

The police were over-the-top as usual, bringing around 60 officers from Hull, it's surrounding areas and even from other areas of the UK such as London. With the 60 officers there were also dogs and horses, riot vans, helicopters, evidence-gathering crews and more. This no doubt their usual effort to try to make peaceful compassionate people look like thugs and terrorists, however it back-fired on them when all this wasn't put to intended use and it was as clear as could be to anyone what they were trying to portray of us and how they are so very wrong, and with mass media attention such as the BBC there to report on it - the message of police misguidance was sent out to over three million listeners and viewers that activists are not thugs and terrorists but intelligent, compassionate people standing up for the rights of animals.

The demonstration was loud and visual, with a clear message being sent to B and K Universal that vivisection is nothing but animal cruelty and scientific fraud. We will campaign against them until they stop dealing in animal exploitation.

Apparently B and K Universal has very recently been sold by Gerry Bantim to Marshall Farms in the US. Let's send them the message of outrage and let them know they're newly brought business will receive a lot of attention and opposition.

Some activists also visited Highgate Farm, in Lincolnshire who breed rabbits and ferrets for vivisection on the way to the B&K demo, see the Indymedia report: http://northern-indymedia.org/articles/466

Until all are free
