home >> news HLS CUSTOMER PROTESTS CONTINUE IN DC Monday, 19th July As the big US Animal Rights 2010 conference was wrapping up, more than 50 animal rights activists swarmed into DC to protest at the offices of DC's Huntingdon Life Sciences customers: Novartis, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Sanofi Aventis and Bristol Myers Squibb. Activists started off in the courtyard in between 4 of the largest customers naming and shaming them and raising public awareness about vivisection. Many office workers stopped their day to watch as activists held up signs and blaring mega phones for all to see and hear. Seeing that this happened in a courtyard with huge buildings with glass windows of the offices of 4 customers in HLS, workers were not too productive. Activists moved onto the separate targets and covered all entrances and exits of the respective targets. There were at least 5 different “undercover” officers taking pictures and unmarked police cars with Virginia, Maryland and DC plates, indicating they were probably with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. There were also a number of regular MPD there as well escorting the activists from location to location. DC activists have seen this happen before and this probably won't be the last time either. All the police and FBI will not deter activists from naming and shaming those who do business with Huntingdon Life Scieneces. Novartis, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol Myers Squibb, you need to sever ALL ties with HLS. Because, in DC, there is truly no rest for the wicked!
