SERVISAIR END LAB ANIMAL TRANSPORT
Monday, 26th July
Servisair have been involved in the importation of laboratory animals into the UK on a number of occassions, transporting beagle dogs in large numbers through Manchester Airport from Marshall Farms in New York and Europe. Dogs imported by them have been used in experiments at a number of labs, including Huntingdon Life Sciences, Covance, AstraZeneca and Charles River.
Following discussion with NAVA and the company and their freight manager, we are now able to confirm that there is now a company policy in place to stop their involvement in the transport of animals destined for laboratories.
As one of the largest airport handling companies in the UK, this is excellent news and we welcome the decision from Servisair.
