PROTESTS OUTSIDE ASTRAZENECA IN LUND, SWEDEN

Tuesday, 9th March

A group of animal liberation activists gathered outside of AstraZeneca in Lund to let them know we haven't forgotten about their dirty dealing with Huntingdon Life Sciences. As many of you know, AstraZeneca has done some major budget cuts, and one of the facilities that will close down is the one here in Lund. The facility will remain open until the end of 2011, and we'll keep coming here until the day when they are gone, or until AstraZeneca stops dealing with HLS.

AstraZeneca seem to be more bothered by us now when it's been made public that the facility is shutting down. The police forced us to move to the other side of the road from where the exit is, even though we've been standing by that exit for years without any trouble. We weren't very bothered by having to move though, since relocating only meant that more people could see us and we were still very capable of getting our point across to the people working at AstraZeneca.

We tried to engage in conversation with a couple of employees, but since AstraZeneca has instructed their staff not to speak with us (probably due to fears that information about what goes on at HLS would be too much for a lot of workers to handle) it wasn't that productive. AZ guards also closed down one of the other exits where we were standing and put up a sign instructing cars to choose another exit, which was quite an amusement to see.

We'll be back soon!
