CHARLES RIVER AWARENESS DAY IN MAYO

Friday, 28th May

We started off with an information table in the centre of Ballina, and leaflet-dropped every shop in the town (all but 3 shops were supportive and happy to take leaflets!). Lots of people stopped to ask questions and a few even gave us their details and said they would come to future events and protests!

Then we made our way to the Charles River lab in Carrentrila, Ballina. Who did we see upon our arrival? Leonard Moran - the man who started up the labs, and who has also opened up a new animal testing facility called 'Ovagen'. We proceeded to question him and his direct involvement with the murder of hundreds of thousands of animals, but he soon resorted to swearing at us, and promptly went back into his house, which is directly beside the lab.

During our time in Mayo, we received two, anonymous calls giving us detailed, insider-info of the Charles River labs - we will be releasing more information on this next week!
