home >> news MORE HLS CUSTOMER DEMOS IN DC Thursday, 6th May Animal rights activist in DC reminded Novartis, AstraZeneca, Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb that their involvement with Huntingdon Life Sciences will not be tolerated. Their mandate was clear: sever all ties with Huntingdon Life Sciences and release an official statement vowing never to do business with HLS ever again. Novartis and AstraZenaca were first on the list. Protesters armed with high powered bullhorns brought shame to these drug pushers for making deals with HLS that result in the torture and murder of 500 non-human animal lives every day to test useless consumer products like Splenda and bleech. Soon after the employees of Sanofi-Aventis were being held accountable for the misery, the torture, the pollution, and the murder of innocent animals forced to submit to horrendous and outdated vivisection that yeilds inconclusive results. Some of these results have been used to justify the release of unsafe drugs in to the market. For example, the FDA (under) estimates that Vioxx caused 27,785 deaths - that's just one drug! The DC offices of Bristol-Myers Squibb didn't get off any easier as the screams of activists, screaming in place of the animals being mutilated inside the walls of Huntingdon Life Sciences, echoed through their building. One thing was clear that morning: these actions calling for an end to the slaughter of 500 lives each and every day will not end until the final nail has been driven into the coffin of Huntingdon Life Sciences. In the words of the activists giving their voice for the voiceless trapped inside HLS, "We will never back down until you stop the killing". Until all are free
