FORTRESS' SHAREHOLDERS CONTINUE TO HAVE DEMOS

Friday, 1st October

Activists in London today held demo's outside companies who are involved with Huntingdon Life Sciences and their life-line lender, Fortress Investment Group.

BANK OF AMERICA - Fortress shareholder/Fortress funder?

First up was Bank of America Merrill Lynch (100 Newgate Street/2 King Edward Street, London, EC1A 1HQ, Tel: 020 7628 1000) who own 7,942,267 shares in Fortress. Activists continue to highlight BoA ties with funding animal abuse at HLS and also are one of the banks Fortress have approached over getting a loan, chanting and information about their involvement in animal abuse and Fortress and HLS, leading to the company stopping vehicles going in or out for a while, what have you got to hide BoA?

We had much support from passing public and BoA staff who were going to their lunch, who said they were not happy with BoA's involvement in animal cruelty who promised to talk with their managers.

NOMURA - Fortress shareholder

Nomura's registered offices (Nomura House, 1 St Martin's-le-Grand, London, EC1A 4NP). Nomura think that they are beyond reproach, but they are a shameful company who are the largest Fortress shareholder, with over 60 millions shares as well as sharing some directors with Fortress. We will target every aspect of their dirty company, while they continue to be a lynchpin for Fortress and the abuse at HLS! Both entrances were continually covered with chanting activists, whilst employees and visitors were leafleted, coming back from their lunch breaks.

Next we headed to Nomura UK HQ (One Angel Lane, London, EC4R 3AB, Tel: 0207 521 2000), as this evil company who have a heavy influence over Fortress, sharing directors and owning over 30% in Fortress. Activists hung banners and chanted outside their entrance. Protestors then moved round to the Thames waterfront side of their glass building to make our message clear - Fortress/Nomura pull out of funding HLS!

WORLD COURIER UK HQ - Animal transporters

World Courier (Sea Containers House, 20 Upper Ground, London, SE1 9PD - Free phone: 0800 289 839) transport lab animals from Charles River to HLS, Covance and other sick companies across the world. They thought they could lie to activists, however were caught out as the liars they are. We covered the front entrance with activists while the office doors soon became covered with guards (not that they were able to do anything but storm off and swear when they were unable to move us) with employees having to walk past a barrage of chanting. World Courier - do the decent thing and drop the vivisection industry. Other companies you share office space with must be getting very annoyed with your unethical choice of business dealings.
