MORE OCEAN FINANCE PROTESTS IN MIDLANDS
Friday, 8th October
Activists arrived outside of the offices of Ocean Finance in Tamworth again today to keep up the pressure against them for their ties with Fortress and Huntingdon Life Sciences.
With growing numbers on the protests, banners, posters present, Ocean Finance saw the most visual and loudest demonstration as of yet.
Once again upon arrival the doors were locked, windows slammed shut, and blinds pulled across. However some members of staff couldn't help but watch on as a major scene was created outside their premises. Activists were shouting as usual, continuing to shame the company for what they are involved with and question their senses on ethical, scientific and business levels because clearly they lack all three. Sirens were also on as usual and with more attendees and air-horns present as well, the demos have been cranked up a knotch on Ocean Finance.
Members of the public were parking by the side of the road to talk to us about our protest as others drove passed beeping their horns in support, whilst those walking on the pavement also stopped to talk. Leaflets were given out informing everyone.
Finally the time came for Ocean Finance staff to leave for home, as determined activists continued to shame them as they all came out in a tight bunch, staring at the floor and walking swiftly to their cars. Continuing as they drove out, we know we gave them plenty to think about.
The intensity of our protests has been turned up, and unless Fortress pulls out of HLS we will be sure to continue increasing the pressure on the subsidairy of Fortress, Ocean Finance here in the Midlands.
