home >> news HLS FUNDER, FORTRESS SHAREHOLDER & HLS CUSTOMER DEMOS IN LONDON Friday, 10th September Activists started the day outside Fortress Investment Group at 5 Savile Row for their continued support and investment in animal abuse and cruelty. Fortress are a disgusting company who make it financially possible for HLS to continue torturing and abusing 500 animals a day inside their labs. We reminded Fortress that although they try to stifle of rights to protest we will not stop targeting them until they pull out of their blood money loan, with Fortress' financial support over 600,000 animals have been murdered until HLS because of their backing since 2006 when Stephens Inc pulled out of their loan agreement with HLS. Fortress are vital to HLS's continued abuse and torture of animals and Fortress will be in our sights until they stop funding HLS. Next stop of the day was Sankaty Advisors at Devonshire House, Mayfair Place, who are a large shareholder of Fortress Investment Group, despite SA's promises to "look into it" last week when we first visited their offices there was no sign of any change as the security put the building into lock down, with only one small side entrance being used during our protest. Our loud demo attracted much interest and support from lunchtime office workers passing the building and many flyers were handed out informing the public about the cruelty and abuse at HLS and Sankaty Advisor's ties with the horrific animal abuse. Activists later moved on to AstraZeneca at 15 Stanhope Gate, where removal company Johnstons were going to move stuff out of AstraZeneca, very soon after we arrived outside the offices all the Johnston Removal staff from their two large lorries were ushered into AZ's offices so they couldn't be informed about the cruel, corrupt company they were working for. Some of the removal people were happy for an extra break and took flyers and listened to a catalogue of animal abuse, corruption, employment abuses, tax evading and lies that makes up the real corporate face of AstraZeneca. A company that continues to support and fund directly animal torture within HLS. After about an hour we moved off and Johnston Removals continued with their work. We wonder whether Johnston will continue to help AZ now they know a different side to the company? Or are they just as morally bankrupt as AstraZeneca and HLS? SHAC London
