ANOTHER WEEKEND DEMO AT HIGHGATE FARM

Sunday, 19th September

Activists from Yorkshire traveled to Highgate Farm in Lincolnshire for another demo against this notorious lab animal breeder, we arrived about 12:30 and peacefully protested for 40 minutes or so until the arrival of the first police car. Activists made their presence felt with loud voices, megaphones and drums outside the main entrance to the farm, the solo police officer was happy for us to continue on the opposite side of the road near the gate and said he can see this is a very peaceful demo and he had no problem with it. It was a rainy Sunday, but what ever the weather we will never stop protesting about the hell that the rabbits and ferrets Geoffrey Douglas breeds have to go though.

Then another police car pulled up, all seemed well, we continued to be entertained by the loud music Highgate Farm was playing, a bit more Susan Boyle though would of been nice though, "I dream-ed a dream of rabbits been free" was sang though the megaphone and we chanted, CLOSE DOWN HIGHGATE FARM!

Then an inspector arrived, and we were requested to move down the road by the increasing, over the top police presence which had by now assembled at the gate.

Seemingly the Lincolnshire force are more than willing to squander public money on sending an inordinate number of officers to respond to peaceful demos time and time again. After a couple of hours of protesting we left safe in the knowledge Geoffrey was reminded of the horrors he's part of and that using animals in experiments is unethical, unreliable and unnecessary. And that he should do the right thing and CLOSE DOWN HIGHGATE FARM!
