ASTRAZENECA PROTEST AT LUTON SITE, BEDFORDSHIRE

Wednesday, 22nd September

Today Activists returned to AstraZeneca, Horizon Place, 600 Capability Green, Luton, Bedfordshire LU1 3LU for the second time this month. We immediately made our presence felt with 3 megaphones making sure the demos were as loud as ever. We continued to make sure that everyone in the building knew why we were there and reminded workers who feel sympathetic to our cause that they could help by leaking information, or sending emails to the CEO of the company saying that they weren't happy with the companies shameful policy of being a customer of HLS. We also let them know that under the equalities act there are within there legal right to do so.

It was a warm Wednesday afternoon, so at lunch time many workers from surrounding companies came to vist us on our demo and many of them took leaflets. Many of these workers were hoffified at who they share a Business park with. We also had support from many passing motorists. Today's demo was coupled with the international week of action against financiers, we thought seeing as AstraZeneca are one of the largest remaining customers of HLS, we decided that they were worth the attention.

The demos today also happend to be the same day as the third day of strikes at the Hurdsfield, AstraZeneca site. We encourage you AstraZeneca to cut your ties with HLS and no cut your workers pensions, especially when AZ's CEO is getting millions in 'extra' benefits and bonuses (surely he can give some of that back into the pension scheme?)

Rest assured AstraZeneca that until you do the right thing and drop HLS we will continue to return to your offices whenever we choose.

Until all are free!
