ASTRAZENECA SHAREHOLDERS HAVE MORE PROTESTS

Thursday, 3rd February

London activists started the morning off with a visit to Wellington Management at 80 Victoria Street, London SW1E 5JL Tel: +44(0)20 7126 6000, as they are the largest institutional shareholder (with nearly 19 million shares) of the discredited pharma company AstraZeneca. We will continue our focus on AstraZeneca into 2011 and all their collaborators until they do the right thing and stop dealing with the worst of the worse animal labs - HLS. We stayed outside their offices giving out many flyers and talking with passers-by about Wellington Management and AstraZeneca's dealings with gross animal abuse and cruelty, before travelling into the city.

We them went to another major shareholder of AstraZeneca - AXA who have nearly 60 million shares between their institutional and equity shareholdings. We had about an hour long, loud demo at their UK HQ at 5 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1AD Tel: +44 (0)20 7920 5900. We continued to question Axa's so-called ethical policy and their links with the RSPCA while at the same time making money out of the suffering and abuse of animals at HLS - paid for by AstraZeneca.

We will not rest until these companies realise that if they deal with HLS, they will have to deal with compassionate activists throughout 2011.
