ASTRAZENECA SHAREHOLDER DEMOS CONTINUE IN LONDON

Thursday, 10th March

It was a beautiful cloudy morning, so we decided to do an early demo. And what better place than one of the largest equity and institutional shareholders of the morally depraved pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca - Axa's UK HQ, at 5 Old Broad Street, London EC2N 1AD (Tel: 020 7920 5900). Their 3 doors were opened and we had 3 megaphones, so we made our message very clearly heard by all inside.

On our way to the next target, a city policeman was following us inside the tube. We would like to thank him for making us laugh so much; while following us very closely going up and down the escalators and finally unable to access our train when the doors were closing and his foot got trapped. The situation was so embarrassing for him that he thought he could be like the “incredible hulk” and open the door with his feet… but eventually the door closed with him on the wrong side of the door. We waved to him thought the window to show solidarity for his plight.

Then we met up with the other protesters and we went to Axa Investor Managers, 7 Newgate Street London, EC1A 7NX (Tel: 020 7003 1000) to keep the pressure up on Axa! Many passers by supported the campaign and some decided to join us. Axa, you won’t get away with profiteering from murder and although you proudly publish on your web site that the RSPCA and you were awarded the Affinity Marketing Award for the RSPCA Pet Insurance product, we will continue protesting outside your offices naming and shaming you for investing in animal torture inside HLS and your hypocrisy.

Then we went to the second largest equity shareholder of AstraZeneca - Invesco, at 30 Finsbury Square, London, EC2A 1AG (Tel: 020 7065 4000) where the security guards were asking for all the IDs of the arrogant and insolent staff with no morals or ethics. They took pictures of us and we took pictures of them and had a good visual demo.

And finally we visited the 3rd largest equity shareholder of AstraZeneca - Legal and General, at 1 Coleman Street, London EC2R 5AA (Tel: 020 3124 3000 and 0800 027 7169), who not only invest in animal cruelty at HLS but also earn money by advising companies who manufacture cluster bombs. Such “beautiful” and “compassionate” people! We call on all AstraZeneca stockholders to take note, we will not stop until you sell your shares or put pressure on AZ to pull out of HLS.

This is war AstraZeneca, and we won’t stop fighting until HLS is closed. Dump HLS now!
