Wednesday, 2nd November

A group of French activists gathered for a day of action against HLS' customers : MSD, AstraZeneca and Bristol Myers Squibb. The day of action was initially scheduled for Halloween, but all the pharmaceutical companies were closed on that day.

First target was MSD. Speeches were made, informing passers-by and the staff about HLS and the lack of justification for animal experiments. As usual the employees were hiding and didn't dare go out to smoke.

Next target was AstraZeneca. Chants echoed all around. The temperature rose, they told them that they should follow the example of all the other companies that took the decision to cut their ties with HLS.

Finally they went to the rear of Bristol Myers Squibb's offices, where the employees' car park is situated. We shamed every single car leaving, showing them graphic images of vivisection and asking them “What if it was your dog ?”.

It's important to keep the pressure on the clients, no customers means no animal testing. HLS will close, it's a matter of time, do these companies want to be identified as “the last companies who wanted to work with that horrific laboratory” ?
