ASTRAZENECA PROTEST IN DUBLIN, IRELAND

Thursday, 29th September

Today, we protested outside AstraZeneca's offices in Dublin at College Park House, Nassau Street, Dublin 2 (Entrance is off South Fredrick Street) . Tel: 01-6097100

It was in the city centre so lots of people stopped to show their support, take leaflets and to hear the chanting about the animal abuse, corruption and dealings with HLS. AstraZeneca locked their doors as usual and 20 minutes into the demo a condom filled with water sailed out of a 4th floor window opposite and landed with a big splash on a parked car. We carried on regardless and four Gardai arrived soon after. They had gotten a call from someone saying that we did it.

After chatting with us they donned gloves, went into the opposite building and got the condom thrower out to apologise to us personally. It was all good humoured and a big crowd gathered around.

Gardai said they were there to protect us and appeared to be supportive of our demo. All in all a good day and some new supporters who really were enpowered by the demo and said they would get more involved.
