FIVE AXA PROTESTS, FOLLOWED BY A VISIT TO ASTRAZENECA
Friday, 30th September
It is disturbing, provoking and insulting for compassionate individuals to know how many times HLS has been exposed for animal cruelty and rule breaking. It fills us with rage to fight for the 70,000 animals locked in solitary confinement in that hell, waiting to be poisoned to death in the most excruciating way, being burnt, brain damaged or cut open while still alive.
We don’t tolerate that viciousness and we will do everything we can to stop that crime.
12 activists decided to target AXA today, a major shareholder of AstraZeneca, who has been caught on camera in 2008 funding merciless and brutal experiments on primates at HLS. And as AXA’s offices are based in the City and are about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from each other. So it was decided to do 5 AXAs in a row.
First target was AXA Corporate Solutions at 140 Fenchurch St, London, EC3M 6BL - Tel: 020 7702 6600. We hope Emmanuel Nivet, CEO AXA Corporate Solutions UK, was informed about our showing up outside the office naming and shaming them with 3 megaphones and handing out many leaflets.
After that we went to AXA Insurance at 1 Algate Drive, London, EC3N 1RE - Tel: 020 7702 3109 and 020 7553 2849, just 10 minutes walking distance from AXA Corporate Solutions. It was the first time we went there, and the security staff were so unsure about what to do with us, that for a few seconds, they closed both entrances (one door and the revolving doors) stopping the employees from leave or coming into the building. How unprofessional is that AXA! We suggest your security staff attend a new induction training session.
After one hour protesting outside AXA Insurance, giving speeches on the megaphone very loud and clear for everybody to listen, we went to AXA Real State - Tel: 020 7374 4100 and Axa Rosemberd - Tel: 020 7003 1800, who are both based on the same building at 155 Bishopsgate, London, EC2M 3XJ. It was a very hot day (29 degrees!) and the neighbouring offices employees were enjoying the sunny weather at the cafe’s terraces during their lunch break, so we easily informed everybody in the nearby area about the involvement of AXA in the sickening and brutal vivisection industry.
Afterwards, we visited AXA UK headquarters at 5 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1AD - Tel: 020 7920 5900, a regular protest target, to continue pressurising AXA to sell their blood money shares in AstraZeneca.
Then to finish off, we visited our fifth and last AXA target of the day: AXA Investment Managers, at 7 Newgate Street, London, EC1A 7NX - Tel: 020 7003 1000 where we loudly protested against them for about one hour.
We decided to finish the day of protests by visiting AstraZeneca in Paddington! And standing outside their car park with banners and placards naming and shaming them as the remainder workers left.
Until next time AstraZeneca!
We will continue fighting to close down HLS at all costs.
