BLACKROCK OFFICE DEMO IN LOS ANGELES

Friday, 30th September

On Friday a handful of activists gathered in front of the BlackRock office in downtown Los Angeles to take part in the Global Day of Action Against AstraZeneca, one of Huntingdon Life Science's top customers. Activists have targeted BlackRock because they own 160 million equity shares in AstraZeneca, making them the top shareholder of the company; therefore, also making them responsible for the death of the 500 animals that die every single day inside of the notorious Huntingdon Life Sciences.

The protest got started as the activists walked up to the front doors of the building shaming BlackRock for their bloody ties with HLS. Activists reminded them that until they sell their shares in AstraZeneca, BlackRock will continue to be a target of the global campaign to shut down Huntingdon Life Sciences. After making their message clear at the front doors of the office, activists proceeded to march through the food courts passing out literature and educating the public about the horrendous animal experiments that happen inside HLS.

One woman was so appalled by BlackRock's ties with HLS that she grabbed a sign and joined the activists for about 30 minutes. After about a hour and a half, the police showed up and told the activists that they were no longer able to use megaphones on the property of the California Plaza. Activists assured the police that their legal team will be calling the department and sorting this matter out. However, this warning did not stop activists from marching back up to the front doors to tell BlackRock to either cut their ties with HLS or deal with us.

UNTIL EVERY CAGE IS EMPTY AND HLS IS SHUT DOWN!
