A group of patients filed a dangerous drug lawsuit against AstraZeneca claiming the drugmaker’s cholesterol-lowering statin drug Crestor caused them to experience adverse side effects.

The complaint was filed in California state court on March 19th, by residents of Alabama, California, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon. The plaintiffs allege that they developed type II diabetesas a direct result of being prescribed and taking Crestor. One of the plaintiffs claims he also suffered a myocardial infraction.

The dangerous drug lawsuit alleges that the drugmaker knew about the dangers associated with Crestor, yet actively hid that information from doctors and consumers. The lawsuit further claims that the drugmaker falsely represented the drug in its advertisements.

The plaintiffs contend they would not have purchased the drug had they known AstaZeneca’s statements were misleading, false and untrue.

Similar dangerous drug lawsuits were filed in California throughout March. In these suits plaintiffs allege they or their loved ones experienced a heart attack, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and/or death.

If you or a loved one has suffered devastating adverse side effects from Crestor or another dangerous drug, you may be entitled to compensation. Contact Sokolove Law for a free legal consultation and to find out if a dangerous drug lawyer may be able to help you.
