Friday, 31st August

As part of the Knock Out week of action against AstraZeneca, London activists decided to visit AZ’s Global HQ (at 2 Kingdom Street, Paddington, London W2 6BD) early in the morning. We held placards, with text, advertising how AstraZeneca has been exposed for, bribery, fraud and corruption. When we finished the monologues, we were applauded by members of the public, who came to pick up leaflets. They showed appreciation at having an opportunity to hear the truth about the criminal corporation that AZ is.

Later on, after meeting up with other activists, we headed into the City to put pressure on two of AstraZeneca’s main shareholders: Axa and BlackRock. We visited Axa’s UK HQ (at 5 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1AD, Tel: 020 7920 5900). We know that Axa don't have any intention of changing AZ's business activity. AstraZeneca fund the cutting, drugging, addicting, infecting, shooting, shocking, burning, blinding and surgical mutilation of live animals inside HLS. As they are a major shareholder in AstraZeneca, we held an hour long demonstration outside Axa’s offices. Then we moved onto BlackRock Investment Management (at Drapers Gardens, 12 Throgmorton Avenue, London, EC2N 2DL, Tel: 020 7743 3000 and 0800 44 55 22), the largest shareholder of AstraZeneca. BlackRock’s acceptance of unethical investment is well known, so we put pressure on them to do the ethical thing and sell their shares.

For the 500 hundred animals who died in vain today. Also for the hundreds of patients who died today as a result of the side effects of their drugs which were tested on animals.
